Goshen Inter-House Sports Competition

 

Goshen inter-house sports competition was one with a difference as students, staff members, parents, invited guest, as well as our online audience enjoyed this electrifying event filled with palpable excitement. What an incredible day as we had the maiden edition of the School Inter-House Sports since the commencement of the institution. 

All of our clubs brought their A-game and left everything on the field, showcasing their hard work, collaboration and agility skills and leaving us all in awe. Our students truly broke records and set new ones in every event they competed in. It was clear that each club had put in hours of hard work and dedication to prepare for this day

The students’ display of uniformity spiced with fantastic formation and acrobatics was topnotch during the march past from Ignite , Effulgence , Luminous to Aglow. At the end of the march past, Ignite came 1st with 20 points, Effulgence  came 2nd with 18 points, Luminous came 3rd with 16 points and Aglow came 4th with 14 points.

In her introductory speech, the Proprietress, Mrs M.O Ariyo encouraged everyone on the importance of sports as it helps to boost team spirit, build mentorship and leadership skills as well as all round fitness in the physical and moral dimensions before declaring the competition open.

After the final events of the day which were the 100m races, 200m races, 400m races, egg race, relay races, sack race, lime race, picking  the balls, bond race, early to school, high jump and tug of war; the results were collated which kept the audience on edge awaiting the final result.

During this wait, gifts and awards were presented to the best  athletes  as well as invited schools, parents, staff members who participated in different races and had emerged 1st, 2nd or 3rd. After all medals and awards had been presented, the time for the announcement of the final result finally came.

Effulgence(Blue) clinched the 1st position with 24 points, followed by Aglow(Green) with 18 points. Luminous (Yellow) came 3rd with 15 points and Ignite(Red) took the 4th position with 12 points.

Our sincere appreciation goes to all the house patrons, Aglow : (Ven. Olatunbosun.O) Luminous :(Obadimu S.Y) , Effulgence : (Dr. Segun Ajayi) , Ignite: (Mrs. Ariyo M.O) , staff members in the various committees who all worked very hard to make the occasion a very successful one. We also appreciate Goshen parents for a massive turnout to support the children and also participate in the races. 

All in all, it was a very successful occasion. We look forward to having such again , God willing. Well done to all.
